DESTINATION VANCOUVER’S MANDATE

To support Vancouver's tourism industry in developing their experiences, and promoting Vancouver in target Canadian, US, and International markets.

We invite you to learn more about Destination Vancouver’s new expanded mandate:
https://www.tourismvancouver.com/about/brand/destination-vancouver/

The team will be taking a phased approach to introducing Destination Vancouver in the coming weeks and months. Starting in August, we will be switching our website domain to www.destinationvancouver.com.

If you have questions about Destination Vancouver’s new name and mandate, please reach out to our Membership team:

  • On August 9, 2021, fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents will be eligible to enter Canada.

Fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents must have received the full series of a vaccine - or combination of vaccines - accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada. Currently, those vaccines are manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). Travellers can receive their vaccine in any country, and must provide evidence supporting their vaccination in English, French or with a certified translation (along with the original).

  • On September 7, 2021, the Government intends to open Canada’s borders to fully vaccinated travellers from any country who have completed the full course of vaccination with a Government of Canada-accepted vaccine at least 14 days prior to entering Canada and who meet specific entry requirements.

For the full announcement and more details on what changes on August 9th, visit the Public Health Agency of Canada’s website.

As part of the Hardest Hit Coalition, we need your support to advocate to government the urgent need for continued and tailored sector support programs.  We need to apply pressure to Government to make sure they know that even with Canada’s border open to all fully vaccinated International travellers, Canada’s hardest hit businesses need tailored support to stay alive and employing almost 2 million people.

In support of the Hardest Hit Coalition's campaign, we encourage you to reach out to your MP for a meeting.

  • You can find your local Member of Parliament here
  • Download and share the key messaging guidelines here

If you have a meeting with an MP, please send a note with any feedback from your discussion to Sabrina Tey, Manager, Communications at stey@destinationvancouver.com
