To support Vancouver's tourism industry in developing their experiences, and promoting Vancouver in target Canadian, US, and International markets.

We invite you to learn more about Destination Vancouver’s new expanded mandate:
https://www.destinationvancouver.com/about/brand/destination-vancouver/

  • Today, Primer Minister Trudeau announced during a press conference that all Federal public servants, RCMP and air, rail and marine travellers must be vaccinated.

As of October 30, all travellers aged 12 and older taking flights leaving Canadian airports or travelling on federally-regulated railways must be fully vaccinated before boarding. Marine passengers on non-essential passenger vessels like cruise ships must also be completely vaccinated before travelling. There will be a short period of time where proof of a negative COVID-19 test will be acceptable to board, though by the end of November that option will no longer be available.

BC Hospitality Foundation Reaches Million Dollar Milestone

The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is delighted to announce that it has given a total of over $1 million to hospitality and tourism workers facing financial crisis due to a health condition experienced by themselves or a family member. Beneficiaries of the charity include not only restaurant chefs and servers, hotel workers, and baristas, but many behind-the-scenes workers such as delivery drivers, sales representatives, writers, brewmasters, winemakers, and vineyard workers.

Since it's inception in 2006, the BCHF has provided financial assistance to 254 people.

Over the years the BCHF’s mandate has expanded to include a scholarship program to foster the development of the next generation of hospitality industry workers and leaders. The charity has now given over $230,000 to more than 260 students, providing tangible support that shows we value our homegrown talent.

BCHF Executive Director Dana Harris says the organization “is based on the idea that we in the hospitality and tourism industry work together to help our own. We couldn’t have reached this significant milestone without the support of everyone in the hospitality and tourism sector, as well as our Board members and many volunteers. Thank you!”

Destination Vancouver is proud to recognize the BCHF as it's Official Charitable Organization.  Together, through fundraising efforts like Dine Out Vancouver Festival, various contributions from City-Wide Meetings and Conventions hosted in our city (PCMA, SITE and others), and Member donations at our Annual Christmas Luncheon, Destination Vancouver has been able to contribute in excess of $100,000 to the BCHF's fund.
