DESTINATION VANCOUVER NEWS

Destination Vancouver attends Canadian Meetings & Events Expo

Destination Vancouver along with 5 member partners attended the first and only meetings & events tradeshow in Toronto this year.  The Canadian Meetings & Events Expo was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre October 19 & 20.  Destination Vancouver saw over 80 clients flow through the Vancouver booth representing associations, insurance, financial, sport, third party and association management companies.   This annual event featured clients from the Greater Toronto Area in addition to Montreal and Ottawa.

With health protocols in place, including masks and proof of vaccination, all the attendees were still very excited to be connecting in person.  Several trends noted were optimism for in-person meetings beginning in 2022. The delay in lifting of restrictive corporate business travel, and the return to office is impacting the planning of live events. Either for corporate meetings or the attendance at conferences. Uncertainty in travel health protocols and vaccine requirements is also of concern, which is keeping Canadian corporate incentive programs in Canada.  Everyone left enthusiastic for the next in-person event and had positive things to say with Vancouver’s handling of the health pandemic.
