Destination Vancouver is pleased to introduce a bi-weekly forecast of visitors to Vancouver. This new business insights report aims to provide current visitor forecasts using the latest available data to help with your business planning. This report summarizes findings and updates from Destination Vancouver, our partners and suppliers, including meetings & conventions on the books, cruise line schedules and projections, along with hotel and air bookings data from suppliers. For the next two weeks (April 4 – 17), we are anticipating two cruise ships, seven large meetings, and an increase in both hotel and air bookings to Vancouver.

Sport Hosting Vancouver – Industry Update
After our forced hiatus, international sport events are back and ramping up to their pre-pandemic glory. Sport Hosting Vancouver is pleased to share an industry update with Destination Vancouver members, featuring the upcoming events taking place in Vancouver in the coming weeks. As we return to hosting the international sporting events we know and love, we are excited to also share some new features that will take place in Vancouver. 2022 marks the return of women’s tennis in Vancouver, as well as the always loved Canada Sevens.
Additionally, Sport Hosting Vancouver looks forward to sharing some bid updates that will allow the industry to plan for the next few years of sport event fun. Thank you as always for the support.
Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team Celebration Tour (April 8, 2022)
Canada’s Olympic soccer champions are coming to Vancouver as the triumphant Gold Medal Celebration Tour continues at BC Place with Canada’s Women’s Team facing off against African powerhouse Nigeria on Friday, April 8th.
This special match will also provide fans an opportunity celebrate Canadian icon Christine Sinclair’s world international goalscoring record in front of her hometown crowd. Be a part of this historic sporting moment by taking advantage of a special ticket offer featuring 25% off all available seats. Canada is coming home, it’s time to celebrate! Billie Jean King Cup (April 15-16, 2022)
Canada will face Latvia on Friday April 15 (matches start at 4pm) and Saturday April 16 (matches start at 1pm) at the Pacific Coliseum at the PNE.
The Billie Jean King Cup is the largest annual international women’s team competition in sport and features the best women tennis players of each participating nation. The winner of the upcoming qualifier tie will earn a spot in the 2022 finals in November.
We are very excited to have women’s tennis return to play in Vancouver for the first time since 1996 and first time in BC since 2007. As a valued partner, Destination Vancouver can save up to 30% off single day tickets.
HSBC Canada Sevens (April 16-17, 2022)
The HSBC Canada Sevens are back in Vancouver and operating a full capacity and will take place on April 16 and 17th at BC Place Stadium! The 2022 Edition marks the 7th annual HSBC Canada Sevens in Vancouver, and we are again honoured to be hosting this world tour.
All 16 core nations are back competing on the world tour, and we look forward to welcoming the players, coaches, officials and spectators back to BC Place Stadium for this fun-filled weekend.
BMO Vancouver Marathon (May 1, 2022)
Vancouver’s only marathon will mark the events 50th Anniversary on Sunday May 1st!
2022 is boasting record breaking registrations in the Marathon and Half Marathon and the 8K has sold out. Additionally, out of Province registration has surpassed pre-pandemic rates.
Ranked one of the world’s Top Destination Marathons, the BMO Vancouver Marathon features scenic point-to-point courses past snow-capped mountains, golden beaches and along the Stanley Park Seawall.

Members are invited to become familiar with the promotion and to also review the new campaign toolkit for more information on how to support and leverage the campaign. Submit your Special Offers for our Spring Campaign!
As we head into peak season with the return of travel and cruise, we want you to be involved in Destination Vancouver's new campaign!
The spring campaign, launching in April, will promote Vancouver to BC, Alberta, and Ontario audiences, as well as into Washington State.
We invite our attraction, event, sport, hotel, culinary, wellness, and arts & culture members to share new or updated special offers for this promotion, by emailing our Marketing Agency. These could include offers such as discounts, value-add, third night free, or any offer that encourages a sense of urgency (such as inclusive of event tickets), greater spend (through incentivized activity consumption), or longer stay (through rewards or savings). Full-day and multi-day touring and sightseeing product is also encouraged, particularly for experiences which are themed around wellness, culinary, arts and culture and anything quintessential Vancouver in theme.
When submitting a new or updated offer, please provide:

The City of Vancouver along with the Vancouver Economic Commission, Emily Carr University of Art and Design have created the Circular Food Innovation Lab to test solutions to eliminate avoidable food waste across Vancouver’s food supply chain.
There is no fee for businesses to participate in the project. Advice, services, and tools provided as part of the Circular Food Innovation Lab are free of charge. This research project is funded through the generosity of the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance and Mitacs. Click here to read more about the initiative.
