Canada celebrates National Volunteer Week from April 16th to 22nd. Destination Vancouver’s volunteers have been pivotal in creating memorable visitor experiences. We are very grateful to the team and the work they do during the peak season. Please join us in thanking and celebrating this week with some of Vancouver’s most dedicated and passionate ambassadors, our Destination Vancouver Volunteers.
This year, a total of 165 volunteers will be back on the streets with their friendly smiles to greet and welcome guests, assist them, and recommend “must-dos” in the city and around, but more so to brag about our city. Our program’s 7-day operation starts on April 27th until October 3rd, from 8:30 am to 3 pm. The volunteer team will be on foot at high-pedestrian areas in the downtown core driving visitor experiences by guiding guests to navigate through the city, directing locals to their favorite attractions, and helping delegates during their conferences.
We would love to hear from you, expand our product knowledge, and experience some of the products firsthand. Please reply to volunteers@destinationvancouver.com to set up online/in-person Member Presentations and Familiarization tours for the volunteer team. This is a great way for us to understand and experience the product offered in the city while we keep visitors and their questions in mind.

On March 25, Destination Vancouver’s Michelle Taylor and Morgan Da Rocha attended the 2023 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Vancouver Section Annual General Meeting (AGM) as the Destination Sponsor for the IEEE Vancouver Section.
This event marked the first time since the pandemic that local IEEE members were able to meet in-person for an evening of networking, keynote presentations, and section awards. Representing Destination Vancouver, Michelle and Morgan had the opportunity to connect with influential leaders and present on-stage to the entire group.

From May 1 to 7, 17 cruise ships are coming with over 65k passengers. There are five meetings on the books, in addition to three more meetings held at the Vancouver Convention Centre; including: HR Conference & Expo (May 2-3), Art Vancouver (May 4-7), and BMO Vancouver Marathon Expo (May 5-6). We are seeing a decrease in hotel bookings next week compared to the current week. However, the volume of air arrivals to Vancouver is expected to increase, especially from the US.
