DESTINATION VANCOUVER NEWS

When spring finally sprung here in April, Destination Vancouver brought a special taste of Vancouver to London for a select group of UK media, M&C, and leisure and trade clients.
London-based superstar Chef Angela Hartnett and her team hosted Chef Andrea Carlson and Katy Cheung of Burdock & Co at Hartnett’s restaurant, Murano. These two exceptional female chefs and their MICHELIN-starred culinary teams took cues from British Columbia’s diverse landscape and Vancouver’s cherry blossom season to weave together a menu that featured BC spot prawns, VQA wines and actual cherry blossoms. As cherry blossoms decorated the room and BC’s local flavours were served, guests were transported to spring in Vancouver.
The collaboration between Chef Angela and Chef Andrea was made possible through Destination Vancouver’s culinary partnership with MICHELIN, as part of our broader efforts to showcase and promote our culinary scene.

BUSINESS INSIGHTS
|
|
From May 15 to 21, a total of 13 cruise ships will be arriving with over 38,000 passengers onboard. We have four known business meetings on the books, plus one additional event at the Vancouver Convention Centre during this period - Battle of BC 5: Ultimate (May 19-21). We are seeing an increase in air bookings, especially from the domestic market, but a decline in downtown hotel bookings for next week compared to the current week.
