From May 29 to June 4, 14 cruise ships are arriving with over 44,000 passengers. There are nine meetings on the books. In addition, seven events will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre during this period. We are seeing an increase in overall hotel bookings for the next week compared to the current week, especially from US and overseas markets.

Neighbourhood Cleanup a Success!
On May 17th Destination Vancouver hosted the 28th Annual Neighbourhood Cleanup Party for the Downtown Waterfront with over 215 people participating from all sectors of Tourism, Hospitality and Events. 85 bags of garbage were collected cleaning over 80 city blocks.
Coffee and snacks catering was provided by Social Crust.
Thank you to everyone who participated to make this such a successful collective effort.

Friday, July 28th | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Field-side BBQ – Nat Bailey Stadium
Join Destination Vancouver and your industry colleagues for a networking afternoon of beer, BBQ and baseball! Alley-Oop Street Party presented by the Binners Project
Taking place in the Pink Alley-Oop connecting Granville and Seymour just south of Hastings.
On June 17th, come to this fun event to raise awareness of the work the social enterprise Binners Project does to create:
- Income generation income opportunities for binners through our waste sorting services and by increasing binners' access to bottles and cans.
- Foster relationships between binners and the wider community by increasing the visilibty of binners and de-stigmatizing their work.
- Waste Sorting: social enterprise programs provide waste sorting services to buildings and events that utilize binners' unique knowledge as waste systems experts.

Australia Snow Travel Expos
May 21 & 28 | Melbourne & Brisbane
Destination Vancouver will be exhibiting in the Canadian Pavilion at Australia’s largest snow show in Melbourne and Sydney. This event provides an opportunity to connect directly with Australian consumers planning ski holidays to Canada and increase awareness for Vancouver as a winter destination. Megan Nelson will be leading this initiative on behalf of Destination Vancouver.

Our Travel Trade team will be hosting two Vancouver Specialist training events in Australia that will focus on the distinct seasons of Vancouver and the vibrant culinary scene. Megan Nelson will be leading this initiative on behalf of Destination Vancouver.

International exhibition/tradeshow for the worldwide MICE market attracting 1,000's of buyers and suppliers from around the world. Destination Vancouver will be participating with Destination Canada as part of the team Canada Pavilion. Michael Drake, Michelle Taylor, Morgan Da Rocha and Royce Chwin will be leading this initiative on behalf of Destination Vancouver.

Rendez-vous Canada is Destination Canada’s annual travel trade marketplace bringing together 1,500+ attendees, including 580+ Canadian seller organizations from all 13 Canadian provinces and territories, and 400+ qualified buyers and media from key markets around the world.
