From July 24 – 27, Team Vancouver connected with conference and event experts at Cvent CONNECT. Held in Las Vegas, the leading event industry conference was attended by Morgan Da Rocha of Destination Vancouver’s Meetings & Conventions team, Heike Tiemann of Downtown Vancouver Fairmont Hotels, and Rachelle Sabatino of Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.
While exhibiting at the Trade Show, our team promoted Vancouver as a meeting destination during back-to-back appointments and walk-ins. Interest in Vancouver was evident as we shared the city’s sustainability initiatives and demonstrated Team Vancouver’s strong and all-encompassing network.

BUSINESS INSIGHTS

From August 7 to 13, a total of 15 cruise ships will be arriving with an estimated 54K passengers. We have one business meeting on the books, along with two concerts at Rogers Arena:
- Avenged Sevenfold: North American Tour with Alexisonfire, August 7
- Rod Stewart with special Cheap Trick, August 12
We are seeing decreases in both hotel bookings and air bookings for next week compared to the current week.
