From September 11 to 17, we have 10 cruise ships scheduled for arrival with around 47K passengers estimated. There are eight meetings on the books, along with one citywide cultural event, Trixstar Live - 2023 Great Outdoor Comedy Festival (September 15 - 16).
There are also two concerts during the same time period:
- Live Nation Canada - Beyonce Renaissance World Tour, September 11 at BC Place.
- Live Nation Canada - Lionel Richie And Earth, Wind & Fire - Sing A Song All Night Long, September 12 at Rogers Arena.
We are seeing an increase in hotel bookings along with a decrease in air bookings for next week compared to the current week.

Funded opportunity for Food and Beverage operators
This is a unique opportunity funded by Vancity for ten food and beverage operations in BC. This funding will target identifying hidden food costs and improve your operational margins. Apply to receive a grant worth $1,500 to leverage the power of a BetterTable Food Audit. Food waste audits completed in BC have enabled restaurants to save at least $1,000 per month. As part of this program, one of the selected participants will have the opportunity to win a grand prize worth $10,000.

Vancouver will be hosting this prestigious event in 2024. Jackie Kavcak and Dave Gazley will be leading this initiative on behalf of Destination Vancouver.

American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Five Star Event
September 20-23, 2023 | Orlando
This ASAE event is exclusively created and designed for association CEOs, providing opportunities to network, learn, and discuss critical issues facing associations today. This annual event allows each participating destination partner to host three top ASAE clients. Vancouver is very pleased to partner with three citywide clients; Entomological Society of America, Geological Society of America and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dave Gazley will be leading this initiative on behalf of Destination Vancouver.
