DESTINATION VANCOUVER NEWS

Destination Vancouver’s Travel Trade team welcomed over 240 travel agents, agency owners, and tour operators from across our core markets on familiarization tours the past few months. We coordinated and hosted 10 unique itineraries to showcase the best of Vancouver with a focus on fall experiences and culinary highlights. Thank you to all the Members who supported these FAMS, we couldn’t do it without you!

DTN Website Advertising Update

Destination Vancouver is developing a new website as part of our broader Digital Visitor Experience project. While we're thrilled about the possibilities it holds, we're still in the early stages of development and are currently evaluating our Content Management System (CMS) options. We are also evaluating whether paid advertising is consistent with the new digital visitor experience. The decisions on the CMS and advertising will be based on which solution enables us to provide the most engaging and effective user experience, as well as the CMS’s compatibility with software needed to deliver the longer-term vision.

To ensure a smooth transition and avoid inconvenience for our advertisers, we have paused adding new DTN advertisers and will not be renewing existing contracts at this time.

Existing contracts will remain in place until their completion, unless advertising is no longer offered, in which case the costs will be pro-rated based on the period for which advertising was provided. There will be the option to go month-to-month once advertisers contracts expire, assuming the current website is still up.

Destination Vancouver appreciates the support provided by advertisers and we will be communicating further information direct.

If you have questions please contact Jeremy Neill, Director of Visitor Experience & Engagement at jneill@destinationvancouver.com.

Thank you for your ongoing support. More updates will follow on the status of our new website and potential advertising opportunities.

From November 6 to 12, we have five business meetings on the books, along with one concert at Rogers Arena: Live Nation Canada - KISS: End of the Road World Tour on November 8. Business Food Waste Practices Survey

As a valued member of Vancouver’s business community, you are invited to share your insights on your current food waste practices by completing this short survey.

As you are no doubt aware, the City of Vancouver is working towards being zero waste by 2040. In support of this ambitious goal, FoodMesh is helping the City learn more about what local businesses are currently doing with the food they are unable to sell.

This survey will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Anything you share will be reported to the City of Vancouver in aggregate - no information that identifies your organization will be included.

Don’t have time to complete the survey? No problem. You can book a quick call with the FoodMesh team instead.
