Destination Vancouver is pleased to present our forecast report for next week. From October 31 to November 6, there will be one cruise ship arriving at the Port of Vancouver, our last cruise for the year. Two convention meetings will be held: Seniors Living Expo & Job Fair and Bushiroad Championship Series 2022, and Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience will open its doors on November 4. Overall hotel demand in the next week is expected to drop while the air bookings for arrivals to Vancouver will increase compared to this week.

Festival of Trees at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Festival of Trees Vancouver, presented by Scotiabank, is a cherished community tradition and has become the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season, serving our community for the last 30 consecutive years.
The halls of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will be transformed into a lush forest of beautifully decorated trees to raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, all thanks to sponsors, local businesses, organizations and individuals.
How businesses can get involved:
- Find out how your business can get involved by sponsoring a tree. View the sponsorship package for more information.
- Sign up to sponsor a tree for the 2022 Festival of Trees today.
- Decorate your tree during a Festival of Trees celebration evening on November 23.
- Visit Fairmont Hotel Vancouver from November 23 to January 1 to vote and donate for your favourite tree.

Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) to Offer Storefront Security Grant to Qualifying Business
DVBIA is proud to announce the “Storefront Security Grant.” This new program offers funding to businesses in the Downtown Vancouver district that have been impacted by criminal activity that has resulted in destruction or damage to their storefronts. Based on fund availability, DVBIA will match up to 50% of the cost (max $5,000) incurred to repair and restore damages.
Eligible businesses will be able to use the grant to cover the cost of: broken windows, doors, and locks, high-level graffiti removal, anti-graffiti coating, security cameras, shutters, gates, and more.
Applications for the Storefront Security Grant will be open from October 24th, 2022 to February 28th, 2023, or until resources are exhausted. DVBIA will review applications on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful applicants will be notified within 14 days of applying.
